We believe that the personal development of spirit, mind and body can only be accomplished through strong training.
Think of your body as a piece of metal, and your mind and soul as the metalworkers who wish to turn your body into a tough and sharp katana(samurai sword).
In order to shape the metal, there must be fire within the forge to help shape it into a refined blade.
The hotter the forge, the tougher and sharper the blade becomes.
Physical training is no different.
My parents used to tell me "if you want to stay healthy, keep moving."
There is a similar philosophy among the Koreans who train in Tae Kwon Do.
The saying goes "if you want to stay healthy, be sure to sweat everyday!"
In short, the benefits of training are directly related to the sum of your efforts.
Ultimately, it is you personally who determines just how much to put into it and hence, what you get out of it!
Although rather new to us Westerners, this concept of "Self-Discipline" has actually been around for centuries.
In fact, some historians have found cave drawings of people training in the Martial Arts which were over 4,000 years old!
A strong part of Self-Discipline to us, happens to be ones ability to control ones anger.
As you are training in an art of Self-Defense, it is important to always be aware that the techniques you learn can be used to seriously injure or even kill, if necessary!
As the quote from the original "Spiderman Movie" goes, "with great power comes great responsibility!"
The concept is no different in the Martial Arts.
Students within our organization will constantly be encouraged to keep their anger in check.
If one who becomes skilled in the basics of our art fails to control oneself, and looks to be a danger to him/herself and to other participants, he/she will be politely asked to leave.
If a grievance is made over this decision, they will be politely asked to seek a second opinion(i.e., if they don't like it, they can seek training elsewhere).
As we are an all-Christian affiliated group, we offer prayer chains and guidance through "Koreja-Do's" network of affiliates.
For more information on how to make prayer requests, seek spiritual guidance, or apply for membership to Koreja-Do itself, check out their website at:

1. New Location-
Beginning March 1st, 2009, we will be holding classes at a new location. The place is called "Faith United Methodist Church," and the address and contact information has been added to the "Contact Us" page of this website, along with the new class schedule.
2. Promotion Testing-
As of January 1st, 2009, we will begin offering Promotion Tests every 2 months. The following is an example of the tentative schedule which will follow this date:
Test 1: January
Test 2: March
Test 3: May
Test 4: July
Test 5: September
Test 6: November
*Students are now given 6 chances to advance each year, none of which are requirements for in-class participation. You will not be ostracised for not testing. You are ready only when both you and your Instructor agree that you are.
**However, by electing not to test when your instructor says you are ready, you may risk the chance for someone else to be promoted ahead of you!
The Tests will be conducted during the last week of the above listed months, unless a holiday prevents it, in which case, a new date will be agreed upon by both the students and their instructor.
